If your primary focus is free or low-cost software, Wave Accounting is a great alternative to FreshBooks. This is a particularly interesting option for the self-employed. No matter how many users you have, this software offers all of the same features as FreshBooks, for free.
Tracking expenses in Wave is much easier than with many other accounting apps because it lets you download receipts with your phone. Wave also allows you to personalize your invoices, but provides a number of invoice templates if you prefer to skip the personalization. You also have the option of accepting payments directly through your invoice to speed up the payment process.
